Number 1 Most Wanted in Guagua (Mel Bartolo) Arrested by Cops


The Pampanga PPO under the leadership of PSSUPT MARLON V MADRID, Officer-In-Charge, successfully arrested the number 1 most wanted personality in the town of Guagua, CARMELINO LOPEZ y BARTOLO @ MEL, 48 years old, married of Sto Cristo, Guagua, Pampanga by virtue of Alias Warrant of Arrest issued by Hon. JONEL S MERCADO, Presiding Judge, RTC, Branch 52, Guagua, Pampanga dated March 26, 2014 with Criminal Case Nr.G-14-9912 for the Murder of Ronel Manalansan with no bail recommended.

In a report sent by PSUPT ANGELITO ESTEBAN, COP Guagua MPS, at about 4:20 in the afternoon of August 20, 2014, elements this Station led PSINSP ADELON M CAACBAY, Deputy Chief of Police and SPO1 Jimmy M Santos, Chief Intel/Warrant PNCO under the supervision of the Chief of Police arrested and brought to the office of Guagua MPS the said accused and temporarily detained for documentation prior to his transfer at Guagua District Jail, San Matias, Guagua, Pampanga.

Further investigation disclosed that Mel Bartolo is believed to be the leader of Bartolo Crime Group that is operating in the province of Pampanga which is involved in illegal drug pushing and manufacturing of counterfeit drugs, and also among the accused in the murder of Ronel Manalansan. Manalasan’s remains were recovered inside the septic tank inside a Bartolo Crime Group safehouse in the town of Lubao during a search warrant operation conducted by the Pampanga police last September 20, 2013.

Additionally, Mel Bartolo was arrested last August 18, 2013 for selling large quantities of assorted counterfeit drugs (Valium). He was also arrested through a joint buy-bust operation last March 3, 2014 for possessing and might as well distributing large quantities of counterfeit drugs (this time Nubain). Bartolo was charged for Violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) for both cases, however he manages to pay his bail.

PSSUPT MADRID commends the personnel of Guagua MPS for their successful operation that led to the apprehension of the leader of the Bartolo Crime Group. Looks like luck is not on his side this time, for he is facing the Murder case with no bail recommended.
