......................................Pampanga PNP Says No to Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation


            Last 9th – 17th of February, the whole country observed the National Awareness Week for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation. This year’s theme “Child Pornography Wakasan: Sa Tamang Paggamit ng Internet, Bata ay Gabayan”, focused and gave emphasis on a more cautious use of the internet especially among children.

            In line with this event, the Pampanga PPO led by PSUPT ANNA LIZA GUZMAN, Chief PCR Branch, under the supervision of PSSUPT R’WIN PAGKALINAWAN successfully conducted a lecture/dialogue regarding Child Pornography at Pampanga PPO, Capitol Compound, City of San Fernando, Pampanga last February 15, 2013. Students from City of San Fernando Elementary School, San Jose Elem School, San Juan Elem School, San Pedro Elem School, Sto. Nino Elem School and Sta. Lucia Elem School attended the program. In addition, PINSP CHERRY TIRASOL, Chief WCPC, acted as a guest speaker and further discussed RA 9775 (Child Pornography) and the dangers related to it through the use of the internet.
           

The students watched a film entitled “A Good Boy” which is about the life of a young boy who suffered from a pedophile. Afterwards the chosen students from the five elementary schools that participated were tasked to make an essay that will show what they have learned regarding the lecture.

            By the end of the program, personnel from PCR Branch held Filipino traditional games (Laro ng Lahi para sa mga Bata). The children were group into several teams and then competed amongst themselves. Through these traditional games, the children will learn camaraderie and at the same time, develop a sense of nationalism.
