PNP GOES GREEN


           

Under the supervision of Provincial Director PSSUPT R’WIN S PAGKALINAWAN, personnel of Pampanga PPO participated and joined the “Citywide Clean-up Day” project of City of San Fernando, Pampanga in celebration of their 12th Cityhood Charter Anniversary held last February 1, 2013.

During the celebration, Hon. Mayor Oscar Rodriguez pointed out the importance of cleanliness towards the development of the city. This is in accordance with the Agenda No. 6 of the City’s 8-Point Agenda which promotes a clean and green environment. He added that the key to achieving this goal is unity amongst the citizens and local government units. He continued that even though the city doesn’t have funds to support a project like a clean-up drive, it could be made possible through joint efforts made by its people.

The event was attended by elements of City of San Fernando City Police Station led by PSUPT RICARDO M DAVID, personnel of Armed Forces of the Philippines, officers and staff of Bureau of Fire Protection, local government offices, students of DHVTSU and representatives of private companies like SM. The massive and simultaneous event targets to be recognized by Guiness World Records for the most number of participants.

The participants of the event helped in the cleaning of roads, vacant lots and waterways and canals in the city. The personnel of Pampanga PPO together with San Fernando City Police Station assisted by cleaning the estuary located behind the Municipal Hall under the Baluyut Bridge by removing garbage and other debris floating on the river.

Subsequently the celebration was conducted in order to help raise the awareness of the city’s constituents towards the importance in having a clean and healthy environment. Furthermore, Pampanga PNP prioritizes not only the safety and security of the public but it also values the cleanliness of the environment.
