2,000 Counterfeit Cooking Oil Confiscated by Cops

In our bid to protect our consumer’s rights under Republic Act No. 7394 (The Consumer Act of the Philippines), around two thousand (2000) bottles of counterfeit Taal cooking oilwere confiscated in a joint operation launched by Floridablanca MPS under the leadership of Chief of Police PSUPT JHOANNA ROSALES together with Malabon Oil and Soap Industrial Co. Inc.

Three persons were arrested while in the act of distributing/selling several boxes of these counterfeit products in public markets and retailers in Poblacion, Floridablanca, Pampanga.

Follow-up operations are still being conducted to know the source of these counterfeit products in an undisclosed warehouse/place in the province of Pampanga.

The Genuine Taal cooking oil costs P36.00 per bottle while the counterfeit products are being sold for P23.00 to P26.00 each. Genuine Taal makers will subject these counterfeits in a lab examination to check its contents and the degree of hazard these might bring to the health of the consumers.

Furthermore, Acting Provincial Director PSSUPT OSCAR D ALBAYALDE commends the COP together with the operating troops for putting to an end this unfair trade practice. PD ALBAYALDE reminds the public to be wary of the products they are buying and if the product is too cheap for its Standard Retail Price, contact the police or proper authorities because these products may be counterfeits too.
