PAMPANGA PNP CHECKPOINT OPERATION

Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 9561-A, states the rules and regulations regarding the ban on bearing, carrying or transporting of firearms or other deadly weapons and the employment, availment, or engagement of the services of security personnel or bodyguards during the election period for May 13, 2013 Automated Synchronized National, Local Elections and ARMM Regional Elections.


In response with the resolution, Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPPO) gave directives to the twenty one (21) Municipal and City Police Stations of the province to intensify the conduct of checkpoint operations in their respective areas of responsibilities. Every municipal station is strictly required to carry out a minimum of four checkpoint operations a day so as to intensify the PNP’s campaign towards gun ban.


The PNP also released a list of guidelines to observe and follow during the conduct of checkpoint operations. These guidelines should be strictly followed along with the standard operating procedures like wearing of full uniform and most importantly the signage for the checkpoint operation. Pampanga PPO Personnel deployed in every checkpoint are always reminded to be courteous. Furthermore, observe and uphold the basic human rights at all times.


Pampanga PPO leadership, PSSUPT R’WIN S PAGKALINAWAN, encourages the public to cooperate with the checkpoint operations being done and warn everyone that no one is exempted in this COMELEC gun ban being implemented. All Pampanga PNP Personnel were directed to apply for a PNP COMELEC gun ban exemptions in order to carry their firearms outside their residences.


Furthermore, PD PAGKALINAWAN assures the public that Pampanga PNP will always be disciplined and courteous at all times and will work doubly to ensure a peaceful election this May 2013.
