Cops Identified One of the Suspects in the Abduction Incident in Candaba

The Pampanga PPO under the leadership of PSSUPT OSCAR D ALBAYALDE, Acting Provincial Director, is currently conducting follow-up investigation in order to identify the suspects in the abduction with murder of Mike Aron Tolentino y Dela Cruz, a 3rd year high school student in Candaba town.

In a report sent by PCI ONNIL DELA PENA, San Luis Chief of Police, at about 1:30PM of February 3, 2014, Mr. Arnold Tolentino (father of the victim) reported to San Luis MPS that his son is missing. Later in the evening, Mr. Tolentino went back to the same office and reported that his son was allegedly abducted near a waiting shed at the vicinity of Caniupan Road, Sta Monica, San Luis, Pampanga by unidentified suspects onboard a white L300 FB Van and a single motorcycle.

Relatedly, on February 7, 2014, personnel from Arayat MPS discovered a male dead person at the Pampanga River Control, San Juan Bano, Arayat, Pampanga. The found cadaver has similar physical features with that of the reported missing victim, Mike. Immediately, PCI DELA PENA and personnel from San Luis MPS together with the victim’s father went to Sta Catalina Funeral Parlor, Arayat to verify the identity of the cadaver.  Mr. Tolentino personally confirmed that the found cadaver was his son.

Follow-up investigation conducted by San Luis MPS resulted in the identification of one of the suspects. However, PD ALBAYALDE stated that the Pampanga police cannot yet divulge the identities of the suspects for security reason and in order not to disrupt the ongoing police operation and investigation. Pertinent documents and appropriate charges against the suspects are now being readied to be filed anytime this week.
