APALIT POLICE COLLARED SUSPECTED CARNAPPER


Through the immediate response of the personnel of Apalit Municipal Police Station under the leadership of PSUPT ANGELITO ESTEBAN, Chief of Police, one Romero TOLENTINO Jr y SALVADOR “AKA JR”, 25 years old, single and resident of Block 21 Lot 5 Northville 10, Sitio Sampanga, Brgy San Vicente, Apalit, Pampanga was collared during a hot pursuit operations. TOLENTINO was cornered along the highway in  Brgy Tabuyoc, Apalit and caught while in the possession of a stolen blue Racal 125  motorcycle and a caliber .38 “paltik” without Serial Number with four (4) rounds of live ammunition at around 2:30 A.M. of March 1, 2012, just a few minutes after the report of incident was received by the responding PNP elements. However, two (2) of his cohorts managed to escaped. The said motorcycle was stolen by the suspects while parked unattended in front of APUNG ANU Grill and Restaurant at said town at around 2:10 A.M. of same date.


Prior to the suspect’s arrest, PO3 Crispin M Tecson Jr and PO1 Marcelino P Gamboa Jr, both personnel of Apalit MPS were then conducting mobile patrolling when a male person approached them and reported that a a motorcycle was carnapped in front of APUNG ANU grill and restaurant prompting the two policemen to proceed at the said place to verify the said report.


That upon arrival at the said place, one FRANCIS BRYAN confirmed that his motorcycle was taken by three (3) malefactors. Accordingly, one of the suspect was seen riding his motorcycle while being pulled, thru a nylon cord, by another motorcycle boarded by the two (2) other suspects who fled to the direction of Brgy Sulipan, Apalit.

Immediately, responding PNP elements conducted pursuit operations and upon reaching the boundary of Bgry Tabuyoc, the pursuing policemen managed to catch up with the suspects and PO1 Gamboa Jr immediately alighted and was able collar  Romero TOLENTINO who was then riding the carnapped motorcycle. Also yielded from TOLENTINO’s possession was one (1) caliber .38 revolver “paltik” without Serial Number with four (4) rounds of live ammunition.


Meanwhile, the two (2) the other suspect  managed to detached the cord attached to the carnapped motorcycle and fled. That while fleeing, the backrider was able to fire several shots  towards  PO1 Gamboa Jr prompting the latter to return fire but the suspects still managed to escape.


Upon arrest, TOLENTINO was informed of the cause for his arrest and was subsequently apprised of his Constitutional rights. He was immediately brought to Apalit Municipal Police Station together with the recovered motorcycle and firearms for the filing of cases for carnapping and illegal possession of firearms.


PSSUPT EDGARDO G TINIO, Provincial Director lauded this accomplishment and commended the personnel involved. Their swift action is a manifestation of their deep sense of commitment to put all criminals behind bars. ***
