5 KILLED IN ARMED ENCOUNTER

The Provincial Intelligence Branch led by PCINSP MICHAEL BAÑAGA MASANGKAY, Officer-in-Charge, together with the SWAT Team, Pampanga PPO and Mexico MPS under the direct supervision of PSSUPT RODOLFO SABATE RECOMONO JR, Provincial Director, conducted surveillance, monitoring and possible police operation relative to the report received regarding the existence of heavily armed group lurking within the vicinity of Brgy. San Jose Matulid, Mexico, Pampanga

In a report sent by PCINSP MICHAEL BAÑAGA MASANGKAY, Officer-in-Charge, he narrated that after validating the report and confirmed by the barangay officials of said barangay, they immediately launched operations against the said dissident groups.   At about 1:20 in the morning of June 9, 2015 operatives who were about to enter a certain premises where the group reportedly hiding for confrontation purposes, several bursts of gunshots fired towards against the operatives, prompting the operating personnel retaliated and returned fire towards the unlawful aggression posed by the suspects.

As a result, five (5) individuals (4 males and 1 female) who were allegedly members of MLLP-RHB identified as Roel Gomez y Liwanag @ Ka Remy, 32 years old married, Ruth Liberty Vudade – Abalong @ Ruth, 29 years old, married, Evan Balaguis y Libongpasil @ Ka Lina, 23 years old, single, Renato Nucum y David @ Toys, 52 years old, married and Aries Nucum y Supan @ Ka Amy, 25 years old, single all were brought to Mexico Community Hospital for medical treatment. However, they were pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician. While a certain RYAN LISING, 28 years old, single and a resident of said barangay was put under arrest. Confiscated from his actual possession and control are one (1) caliber .45 load with magazine with seven (7) ammunitions and one (1) hand – grenade.

SOCO Team from RCLO3 arrived at the scene to conduct technical investigation, and the following are the recovered items: four (4) short firearms, two (2) carbines, one (1) 5.56 caliber rifles, bow and three (3) arrows, cross bow, subversive documents, electronic gadgets and binocular.

Hon. Lamberto G Gonzales, Provincial Prosecutor, OPP_CSFP arrived in the scene to conduct ocular investigation while cadavers were brought to Velasquez Funeral Parlor located at Barangay San Nicolas, City of San Fernando Pampanga for the conduct of Autopsy Examination. However, the families/bereaved refused to conduct the same. Thereafter, cadavers were properly turned-over to the bereaved families duly witnessed by Brgy Officials of Barangay San Jose, Matulid, Mexico.
