UNITY WALK FOR SAFE 2013

Early this morning, the Pampanga PNP in collaboration with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) held a “Unity Walk, Prayer Rally and Signing of Peace Covenant for Secure and Fair Elections (SAFE) 2013” at San Guillermo Parish Church, Bacolor, Pampanga in order to set the right attitude and the right perspective among its men.

The activity was attended by command and staff officers of PRO3 led by PCSUPT EDGARDO T LADAO, PRO3 Regional Director, officers and staff of Pampanga PPO including its municipal and city police stations led by PSSUPT R’WIN S PAGKALINAWAN, spiritual leaders from different religious sectors and officials from Commission on Elections (COMELEC) led by Atty. Lydia Pangilinan, Provincial Election Supervisor, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). Provincial candidates including Among Ed Panlilio together with the incumbent governor Hon. Lilia Pineda and the local government officials participated during the signing of peace covenant.

Participants of the unity walk were divided into three walk groups which assembled in their designated areas. They then walked along designated routes and converged at the San Guillermo Parish Church for the Prayer Rally followed by the lighting of Unity Candle and releasing of white balloons and finished with the signing of peace covenant.


This event was conducted to instill among election stakeholders the power of divine intercession in aspiring for a safe and fair election as well as to drumbeat the significance of the May 13, 2013 national and local elections and herald the start of the election period. Furthermore, everybody’s collective effort is the key to ensure a safe, orderly and honest election.
