......................................RSOTG HOLDS COMMAND CONFERENCE

In the ongoing campaign of Pampanga PNP against loose firearms, RSOTG-Pampanga led by PSSUPT MORO VIRGILIO M LAZO, DRDO, RSOTG Task Group Commander, held a conference at Bale Katimawan, Pampanga PPO last February 26, 2013.

During the said program, an update regarding the number of surrendered firearms for safekeeping was showed. According to the reports of RSOTG Pampanga, there are seventy-five (75) firearms in custody since January 13, 2013. Furthermore, PSSUPT LAZO gave directives to intensify the application of Search Warrants in order to look for more unaccounted loose firearms.

The intensification of OPLAN KATOK was also discussed during the conference. OPLAN KATOK was created last December 3, 2012 in preparation on the upcoming national and local elections. The goal of this special operation is to reduce unaccounted firearms and help lessen violence involving firearms throughout the province.

Moreover, PSSUPT RWIN S PAGKALINAWAN reminded the Chiefs of Police from the city and municipal stations in the province to increase their efforts in sending notices and doing house to house visitations to remind gun owners to renew their expired licenses for their firearms. And if ever the gun owners cannot renew their licenses, the PNP suggests that they turnover their expired firearms to the proper authorities.
