Goat Thief Arrested by Floridablanca Barangay Peace Action Team (BPAT)


The Pampanga PPO under the leadership of PSSUPT MANUEL R GAERLAN, Officer in Charge, successfully arrested a goat thief by elements of Floridablanca Municipal Police Station led by Chief of Police PSUPT JHOANNA ROSALES with the help of Barangay Officials of Brgy Gutad, Floridablanca, Pampanga last March 26, 2014.

The suspect was identified as Dennis Alejandrino y Rivera, 25 years old, married, a tricycle driver in said Barangay and resident of Barangay Cataring, Hermosa, Bataan.

Investigation disclosed that the incident transpired around 4:30PM of March 26, 2014 when a farm owner from Brgy Pabanlag sought assistance from the Barangay Officials and reported that one of his goats was stolen. BPAT from said Barangay quickly coordinated with the adjacent Barangay (Barangay Gutad) and successfully intercepted the fleeing culprit with the possession of the stolen goat inside his driven tricycle.

A theft case Docketed under NPS III-12-INQ-14C-00383 administered by Provincial Prosecutor Lamberto A. Gonzales Jr. of the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office dated March 26, 2014 was filed against Alejandrino.

Earlier this year, the Pampanga PPO launched consecutive BPAT Training Seminars in the municipalities of Sta Rita and Minalin. Said seminars serve to enhance the capabilities of BPATs as they are considered by the PNP as force multipliers in the fight against criminality in their respective areas.

PSSUPT GAERLAN commends the Barangay Officials involved for their quick actions which led to the speedy arrest of the suspect. Furthermore, the Pampanga PPO will continuously conduct BPAT Seminars to other municipalities throughout the year.
