NOTORIOUS GUN-FOR-HIRE AND CARNAPPING GROUP NEUTRALIZED, AKYAT- BAHAY GANG MEMBER ARRESTED

Weekends are not “Rest Days” for the police, as Pampanga PPO reinvigorates its campaign against criminality focusing its deployment more on Saturdays and Sundays where crimes were mostly prevalent. Evident to this were the  neutralization of four (4) members of the notorious Den-Den Group involved in gun for hire, carnapping, drugs and robbery (extortion) activities in Pampanga and nearby province, arrest of one (1) member of Akyat- Bahay Gang and recovery of five (5) firearms in two (2) separate police operations over the weekend.

 On March 11, 2012, 5:00 A.M.,  joint elements of the Pampanga Provincial Public Safety Company headed by PSUPT BERNARDO PEREZ and Mexico MPS led by PSUPT RYAN DAVID, Chief of Police (COP) assisted by Sta Ana MPS headed by PCINSP JOWEN DELA CRUZ and Provincial Intelligence Branch under PSUPT RAUL APOSTOL VALENCIA conducted checkpoint along Brgys Anao-San Jose Malino road, Mexico, Pampanga acting on an intelligence report that notorious DEN-DEN group, led by leader  a certain DEN- DEN DE LEON involved in gun for hire, carnapping, drugs and robbery (extortion)  activities was reportedly seen in Brgy Panipuan, Mexico spotting for their would- be victims.  Checkpoint personnel were then carrying a copy of the Warrant of Arrest of Den- Den and three (3) of his cohorts.

 During the checkpoint, Four (4) malefactors riding on three (3) motorcycles without plate numbers were flagged down for usual inspection. However, the four (4) individuals ignored the checkpoint and sped while firing several shots towards the police. Police pursued the said individuals and a brief encounter ensued which resulted in the neutralization of the four (4). One (1) was identified as GIDER DEN-DEN DE LEON while the three (3) others are still being identified by the investigator. The following were recovered from their possession, as follows:  two (2) cal .38; two (2) pcs hand granade; three (3) unit RUSI single motorcycles. The four (4) were immediately brought to Mexico Community Hospital, Brgy San Carlos, Mexico, Pampanga for treatment.

No less than the RD, PRO 3, PCSUPT EDGARDO LADAO lauded these accomplishments and personally congratulated the PNP personnel involved through PSSUPT EDGARDO G TINIO, PD, Pampanga PPO. Earlier, PSSUPT TINIO ordered his men to maximize deployment during weekends to counter the modus operandi of criminals. Personnel in the field were not allowed to go on off or leave during Saturdays and Sundays if only to maximize the deployment especially on crime prone areas.***

 
In another police operations conducted on March 11, 2012 at around 3:45 A.M. elements of Minalin MPS headed by its COP, PSINSP DIOSDADO B BAMBA together with the SWAT Team led by PSINSP JOHN BERNARD TACDOY were able to arrest one (1) of the fleeing suspects of Akyat- Bahay Gang when they responded to a report of robbery  at the residence of MR. CHRISTIN DAVID y Mangio, 42 years old, married and a high school teacher at Assumpta Technical School, San Simon, Pampanga located in Dalan Matua, Sta. Maria, Minalin, Pampanga.

Responding policemen spotted the group of Akyat- Bahay Gang while in the act of escaping after robbing the house of MR. DAVID. As a result, one ZERDAN FORTALEZA y Zader, 35 years of age of South Ville H.C BLk 6, Lot 5 Montalban, Rizal was arrested while other suspects scampered to different directions.
Recovered from the crime scene were there following: one (1) unmarked cal  .38 revolver snub-nosed loaded with 5 live ammunition; one (1) unit Colt super 38 pistol including a magazine with 9 live ammunition with serial no. 127495; one (1) Armscor 9mm pistol with serial no.1080715 including a magazine loaded with 8 live ammunition; one (1) bolt cutter and assorted tools; three (3) packs lannate insecticide; and their get away vehicle, one (1) white Nissan Urvan Escapade with Plate no. POB-165. Two (2) from the recovered firearms were later found out by the investigator as the same firearms stolen in the previous incident of robbery transpired on February 02, 2012 victimizing Mr. Benny Magpayo at Lourdes, Minalin, Pampanga. Suspect is now temporarily detained in Minalin MPS for investigation and filing of appropriate cases.
