Now that the election period has come to an end, POLICE SENIOR SUPERINTEDENT OSCAR D ALBAYALDE, Officer-in-Charge, Pampanga PPO gave directives to conduct simultaneous clean-up drives throughout the province in order to remove illegally posted campaign materials found along national highways, major roads and baranggay streets.

The removal of campaign materials pertains to Oplan: Baklas which aims to clean and clear areas filled with posters, flyers, stickers and tarpaulins of the candidates from the previous May 13, 2013 elections.

Furthermore, this activity serves as a way for the PNP to demonstrate one of its core values of being “Makakalikasan”. The said campaign materials, if not removed from these areas, may affect the environment and even the health of the public. Some of the plastic materials may obstruct drainages and in turn will lead to heavy flooding in the streets of Pampanga.

PSSUPT ALBAYALDE directed all the Chiefs of Police of the different Municipal and City Police Stations throughout the province to initiate clean-up drive operations in their respective areas of responsibilities.

Moreover, PSSUPT ALBAYALDE instructed the COPs to coordinate with Local Government Units (LGUs), Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) and other stakeholders in conducting clean-up drive operations to lessen workload and make the activity easier and faster.
