2nd Wave of BPAT Enhancement Training

Pampanga PPO under the leadership of PSSUPT OSCAR D ALBAYALDE successfully launched the second wave of Barangay Peace Action Teams (BPATs) Enhancement Training/Seminar yesterday at Minalin, Pampanga. The seminar lasts for two days and will end today, January 30, 2014.

Present during the activity were PSUPT ANNA LIZA M GUZMAN, Chief PCR Branch (Overall Training Supervisor for BPATs), PCI BAYANI DELA CRUZ (COP Minalin MPS), other Officers of Pampanga PPO and seventy five (75) participants composed of Barangay Captains and Tanods coming from the municipality of Minalin.

During the training seminar, Municipal Mayor Hon. Edgardo G Flores recognized the role of BPATs and other civilian participants/volunteers as added force in the fight against criminality in their respective areas of responsibility. Moreover, the BPATs are also valuable partners in the development of the community of Minalin, he added.

Barangay Peace Action Team (BPAT) functions as auxiliary in community policing and law enforcement, in support during disaster relief retrieval rescue and rehabilitation operations, in support to conflict resolution in the barangay, in support to people organizations and environmental protection and conservation.

PD ALBAYALDE said that continuous training for the BPATs will greatly help in the preservation of peace and order situation in the province. This marks the second among the twenty one BPAT enhancement training conducted by the Pampanga PPO for this year.
